In collaboration with Serna Solutions, Women’s Democracy Lab is offering a three-hour training session to help Indigenous women and women of color electeds recognize and respond to the threats they may encounter as elected officials.
This session is tailored specifically to the needs and experiences of our Indigenous women and women of color electeds, and you will receive an overview of strategies to increase safety both for yourself and the people around you during hostile situations.

For those of you who were not able to attend the session virtually we hope you can gather tips, resources, and tools through this self-paced model.
We’ve segmented the three-hour training into 10 modules to support self-paced learning. We encourage you to have your family, staff members, and loved ones to visit our website to become a WDL member so that they can also login and learn how to best support you in these situations.

At our last Safety training session, we introduced our Safety Plan Checklist – a tool that we created for you to assess where you are in your personal safety planning. We also compiled a list of safety and resources to keep you informed and protected in your work, which can be found in the Appendix of this same document. As you go through this doc, you will recognize some of the tactics and points discussed during today’s session.
