In January 2024, The Brennan Center for Justice published a research report which shares key statistics on the levels of threats and other abuse toward elected officials. The data set for this report spans all 50 states and represents over 1,700 elected officials from a range of party affiliations, gender, race, and other identities. WDL used facts and figures from this report as a backdrop for our “Elected and Unsafe” film screening event in February 2024.
